My son prepared for NEET at the Aakash Jayanagar branch. Initially, we were a bit skeptical about admitting him to Aakash, considering that we would be moving away from RVPU and other reputed premium institutes in South Bengaluru. However, it turned out to be the best decision we ever made. My son secured an All India Rank (AIR) of 8,394 and earned a General Merit seat at Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical College and Research Institute, Bengaluru. Here are some of the key highlights of our experience with Aakash: - **Experienced and qualified faculty:** Most of the teachers are well-educated and well-trained for the teaching profession. - **Strict yet approachable teachers:** Teachers are quite particular about tracking marks obtained in every test and understanding the reasons for losing marks. At the same time, they are highly approachable when it comes to clarifying doubts. Whenever required, teachers are even willing to reteach an entire chapter on a one-to-one basis. - **Supportive non-teaching staff:** The non-teaching staff are also very approachable and contribute significantly to creating a conducive learning environment. - **Good infrastructure:** Well-maintained classrooms with comfortable benches, good acoustics, and air conditioning. - **Excellent course material:** The study material is very good, with concepts explained clearly and supported by relevant examples and a sufficient number of practice exercises. - **Regular assessments:** Tests of various types are conducted regularly, including chapter-wise tests, part-syllabus tests, and full-syllabus tests. - **High-quality practice tests:** The practice tests are of a very high standard and assess students' understanding of concepts in depth. Having practised with Aakash's tests, the actual NEET papers feels much easier. - **Highly beneficial Final Series Tests:** The Final Series Tests conducted during the last two months before NEET were particularly beneficial. After every test, teachers from all four subjects (Physics, Chemistry, Botany, and Zoology) carried out a detailed error analysis of every incorrect answer. The mistakes were classified to identify their underlying causes, and appropriate corrective measures were taken to ensure that similar mistakes were not repeated. - **Regular parental involvement:** Every effort was made to involve parents regularly and keep them informed about their child's progress through discussions and feedback. Occasional faculty attrition: One minor concern we observed was that, although not very frequently, some teachers tend to leave Aakash to join other institutes. This can cause a bit of disruption to students' preparation, particularly when they have to adjust to a new teacher. However, I believe this is a challenge faced by most coaching institutions and is not unique to Aakash. **At the end of the day, my son felt that the NEET examination was much easier after completing two years of classroom coaching at Aakash.** Looking back, choosing Aakash Jayanagar was undoubtedly one of the best decisions we made for our son's medical entrance preparation. We are extremely happy with the overall experience and would wholeheartedly recommend Aakash Jayanagar to parents and students aspiring to pursue medicine.
